Chili Onions Rings Recipes

Ingredients :

125 ml buttermilk or milk

2 fresh red chilies, seeded and chopped

2 large onions, cut into rings

5 mm or 1/4" thick

250 g flour

vegetable oil for deep frying

2 tbsp chili sauce or chutney

Method :
  1. Place milk and chilies in a food processor or blender and process for 30 seconds.
  2. Transfer to a bowl, add onion rings to toss to coat with milk mixture.
  3. Sift flour into a large bowl.
  4. Using a slotted spoon, remove onion rings from milk mixture, drain, add to bowl and coat onion rings in flour.
  5. Heat oil in a large saucepan until a cube of bread dropped in browns in 50 seconds.
  6. Add a few onion rings at a time and cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden and crisp.
  7. Drain on absorbent kitchen paper and serve immediately with chili sauce or chutney.
