Country Apple Flan Recipe

Ingredients : |
3/4 tsp
dried yeast
185 ml
warm water
185 g
flour, sifted
1/4 tsp
salt
Apple Honey Filling :
2 tbsp
honey, melted
3 green
apples, cored, peeled and thinly sliced
2 tsp
cinnamon sugar
2 tbsp
brown sugar |
Method :
- Dissolve yeast in water and stand in a
warm, draught free place for 5 minutes or until frothy.
- Place flour and salt in a large bowl,
make a well in the center of mixture, pour in yeast mixture and
gradually stir in flour.
- Mix to form a dough.
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured
surface and knead for 10 minutes or until dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover
with plastic food wrap and set aside to stand in a warm, draught free
place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch dough down, cover with plastic
food wrap and set aside to rise again for 30 minutes.
- Roll out dough to fit a 23 cm flan
tin.
- Line pastry case with nonstick baking
paper, weigh down with uncooked rice and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove rice and paper from pastry case
and brush with honey.
- Arrange apple slices in pastry case,
sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar and bake for 30 minutes.
