Method :
Trim excess
fat from pork chops. Heat some of this fat in a heavy skillet until
skillet is well greased. Discard fat. Brown chops lightly on both sides.
Tear off four 13-inch (33-cm) lengths of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Place
a pork chop on each. Top each with a slice of apple, potato and onion.
Add a pinch of savory, a dash of nutmeg, a generous sprinkling of salt
and pepper and a little dab of butter to each. Wrap tightly, making
double folds at all joins in the foil. Roast over moderate coals until
chops are very tender and cooked through, about 60 minutes.
Note : Cook
in 400F (205C) oven about 1 hour if desired.
